Community Development: From The Beginning.
In our African American communities, the lack of viable economic institutions help cripple thriving neighborhoods that 1) provide products and services for the African American community, and 2) provide employment for African Americans. To begin talking about self-sufficiency, one needs to understand that big developments are developed with small beginnings. Grassroots organizations are important building blocks that help to empower people by strengthening the family, neighborhood religious institutions and voluntary association.
